251 backseats

A question of Greg Hall on the exact details of the rear seats made me dig through my files.
The benches of the /C an /D versions are alike in design. The replacing of as many metal parts as possible by wood is evident in the seats of some /D's. The tubes, the stowagebox under the seat and the bulkheads are replaced. They are seen mixed in the field. For ease of production the leather seats are replaced by wood strips in the final stage.

These cut-trough drawings show the standard situation of backrests in the /C and /D and folding seats resembling early versions. Could this strange combination have been done on information about the ambulance version? Otherwise there would have been a lose of valuable storage room. There is no photo graphical evidence for this version.
