Sd.Kfz. 251/1/D at Warsaw
It is on open air display at the museum Wojska Polskiego. The vehicle is rough but reasonably complete.
Krzysztof Klepka writes in 1999: I do not think it was the Warsaw Uprising vehicle, despite the fact that I watched the German War Chronic where a vehicle with the same tactical number is shown.
The film with the Sd.Kfz. 251 was taken nearby or in Warsaw.
The original Sd.Kfz. 251 called "Szary Wilk" ( Gray Wolf) was taken over by Poles during the first days.
It was probably pressed back into German's service when the Germans crushed the uprising.
This information is not confirmed to the end because the vehicle with light damages was left by Poles on Powisle ( borough of Warsaw) and Germans took it from Warsaw.
There was another vehicle in the museum earlier.
There is no report where it went.
Spring '98. Still traces of paint visible. It appears to be a camouflage scheme.
(Send to me, probably found on the web, please let me know whom I can credit for it.)
here it is photographed two decades earlier. Not much better...
